Chicks arrived

Awesome, thank you all for the help. As much as I'd like to keep a rooster to have my own chicks its just not going to happen with the information I have so I think I will post something on craigslist as free roosters which I believe are Barred Rocks. I would post something in the sell/free section here but I don't think you're allowed to ship them after they are older than a day, correct me if I'm wrong. I'd love to know they went to a good home.
EDIT: That chick that wasn't really doing much is up and moving around just as much as the other chicks now. Guess she just needed a kick start.

There is a product I like to use from my feed store or online called "Save A Chick".
Its electrolytes and vitamins you put in their water. Super easy to use....
1 Packet to 1 gallon of water and shake till disolved (disolves quick).
I even give it to my older hens sometimes if its really hot out. They really like the taste of it.
I give it to the chicks for a couple days a week the first couple of weeks, especially after shipping.
Just to help reduce stress and keep them hydrated and full of vitamins. I don't know if that has anything to do with it
but I have never.....
"knock on wood right now" lost a single chick either purchased locally or shipped.

I like to think that the preventative measures I have taken are the cause of this but maybe more luck than anything.....

Just a suggestion. There are lots of methods out there including simple sugar and water but I would never give that to my kids let alone my chicks! LOL

If ou have a chick though that appears to be a little bit weaker than the rest I think it would be worth adding at leased something to their water as far as vitamins to help give it a better boost.
