Chicks ship out Monday already!

And I'm not feeling like I'm ready for this.

So I covered half the 4 x 4 section with a blanket on top of the metal mesh the box. I'm hoping the heat will circulate a little bit better, I don't want to insulate the box just keep the heat from the lamp in the box and not escaping immediately. I guess we will see tomorrow how it does.

Mine too! I also live in WA, and the hatchery (also in the Midwest) told me that the vast majority of their shipments arrive to destinations in our part of the country on Wednesdays. So, in all likelihood, our chicks should arrive on Wednesday the 4th. I'm told by my post office that I should expect a call at about 5:30a.m. when the trucks come in, I'd bet something similar will happen for you.

Good luck, little peeps!

Ps: post pictures and add to any reviews of the hatchery you purchase from, it is so helpful for newbies like me!

Hey mine shipped out already so check the website. They never called me, but I've been checking the website like every hour lol

I LOVE your setup! If you think its too cold in there, Walmart has small space heaters for real cheap you can get one for that room. They are perfectly safe. I would leave it on for a week and leave the heat lamp the rest of the time. =/

omg, so I called my post office and they're NOT picking up. Its driving me crazy. I keep thinking there's no one there and the poor chicks are gonna have to stay out in the cold till Monday ='(

As far as hatching eggs I do pretty good with my own. Getting hatching eggs through the mail, now that is a different story. I need to switch to getting baby chicks in the mail. Problem no one is raising and mailing out chicks of what I want.

My experience...Post office destroys boxes marked fragile & eggs written on box. But a box of books,... Not a dent in the box.
