Thanks all!! It's been fun doing the full pics every few days. DH isn't too happy about it bc he's the "runner" - grabbing chicks by breed and putting them in front of the camera and then catching them as they run off LOL.

hallerlake - I love our dog crate brooder. We originally had it on the floor, and after 2 days we were both SO SORE from kneeling on the floor all the time that it ended up on the pool table. In about a week, we're going to have to expand it with a 2nd borrowed crate, doubling the space. I just love the brooder though - the fact that it's totally covered - no little ones escaping out the top - is wonderful. Though, you will notice the cardboard strung through the door - Salt (SLW) scooted right through that on Day 1 when we had our dogs visiting to meet the chicks - set us in panic mode LOL. I grabbed her up really quick and DH ran to get some cardboard, but since then there haven't been any escapees.

The cardboard around the sides/back really keeps in all the pine shavings, but they do spill out the front a little bit, but not a huge deal.

Also, the light is on a dimmer, so we were able to really secure it in place. I can't imagine constantly moving it up and down to adjust temp.
