Chicks born in July should lay when?

I read somewhere that they shouldn't lay until next spring. Is this true?

It depends on the breed and your housing set up for them, but they more than likely won't lay until next spring.

Got RSL chicks hatched last September 6th, or so. Begin laying up a storm in late January, right through subzero temps and haven't let up.

Yup, it all depends on the breed.
