Chicks born with their guts outside?

What causes chicks to hatch on their own with their guts partially out? I had 2 this time and last hatch I think it was 1 or 2? I hatch about 32 eggs at a time.

i think this means temperature was too high and they hatched too early,,, not being fully formed

Chicks develop with yolk attached and should absorb it before hatching but not all do. And some are just defective. Those ones generally die:-(

They were walking around with the red part hanging out. I had to put them down, figuring from past experiences, those parts just get closed on and never get absorbed in. These were the later ones in the hatch.
