We just added to our collection of chickens yesterday with four new chicks. (They’re obviously under a light & not with the hens). The salesperson checked them over; eyes, body, butt and all looked good. However, today, the black australorp has something sticking off of her chest. Looks like her breast bone! She’s trying to pick at it & it was not there yesterday. Looks like crusted long feathers or twigs but there is nothing like that in their cage/pen. She’s still walking, eating, being curious….
What is this?! Pease help.

It DOES look like somethings stuck. But I’m afraid to pull or cut. And wishbone, yes, that’s what I meant.
A miniature of what we just kept from our Thanksgiving turkey 😔
I'd give it a good look, to see if it's just stuck on the feathers, if it is, it's most likely safe to pull.
