Chicks...by mail...really?

I did end up ordering mine from mypetchicken because I knew they could do the small order I needed. They were very forthcoming that they were coming from Ohio. I figured if they made it safely to HaleMoa on a remote island in Hawaii that they would do just fine coming from Ohio to Southern NH. I'll let everyone know how it goes when they get here. I'll also be sure to post pictures of all the peeping cuteness!

Hi Everyone!

First, I want to thank you all for your assurances about ordering my chicks by mail. I was expecting the early morning phone call from the PO to come down to pick them up this Wednesday. To my surprise, my doorbell rang Tuesday morning and there was the postal carrier on my porch with a peeping box! I couldn't believe it, they sent a special courier right to my house. Talk about service! Thank goodness I was all ready for them.

All the chicks were perfectly healthy and unharmed in the box. As I promised, here is a picture of my 5 little fuzzy bundles of cuteness!

That little yellow Easter Egger is quickly melting hearts in my house. When you pick her up, she settles down in your hands, rests her head on your fingers and almost immediately starts to close her eyes and go to sleep. She is so adorable. Most of the others try to jump out of your hands still, but she is just so happy to be close to you. So sweet.

I ordered 25 chicks from them a year ago. I now have to sweetest chickens! The post office will call you when your chicks arrive. They do come in a small box, which helps to keep them warm.

You will find that the EE's are that way even as thery get bigger. Ours are just over two months old and they still like to sit in your hand and just look at you!
