Hey, I got some 1-3 day old chicks and one of it came with its eyes closed. He seemed to always be separated from the others and kind of droopy. I wiped his eyes and was helping him drink water and he did open his eyes after wiping them although they closed again in the morning. In the morning one that was happy and healthy the day before was on her back. I thought she was dead but she started moving when I touched her. I noticed her eyes were now closed and that she would start freaking out trying to scratch her eyes and she was now separated on her own when she was usually with the rest of the bird the day before. I am just waiting for the vets to open so I can call but is there anyone who has had this before. Is there anything I can do?

Where did you get your chicks? What are you using for heat? Feed?

I got them from a farm in Keremeos b.c. I have a heating pad for heat in half the brooder underneath the bedding that keeps that half at 90F checked with a temp gun every few hours. It's only in half of it so they can go away from it if they want. I also have a heater in the room that is on to maintain the room at 85 F. They are on a medicated chick starter. I will have to double-check the brand.

Sounds like you have your setup done just fine. If more than those 2 get sick, I would think it’s something they brought from the farm. You could try some chick electrolytes and scrambled egg yolk to see if that gives them any strength.
