I have 5 chicks that have hatched.. I plan on leaving them in the bator until the hatch is done... They are chirping and sleeping together... does that mean they are cold and I should put them in the brooder?

If the incubator is at proper temp, they are probably a tad warm, but, chicks like to pile, I think it gives them a feeling of security, it's what they do under a momma hen.

Try putting a thermometer in there to see how warm it is....I think it's suppose to be around 95˚F at first. ?????? I think you lower it by 5˚F each week...not sure on that.

But I do know that if they are constantly huddled together, it means they are trying to stay warm with each others body heat and it means they may be too cold. Sleeping together is normal, though. And it's so adorable!
