Hi all, I am very new to this type of communication, so please bear with me. I teach Life Science and attempted to hatch chicks with my students this year. I attempted twice and both times failed to hatch any chicks. Since I was very curious as to what was going on inside the eggs I opened several of them about a week after they should have hatched. To my surprise I had nicely formed baby chicks, but they were dead and had only absorbed about half of their yolk sacs. My temp was about 99.5 degrees, however, my classroom does get afternoon sun and the temp did go up to 101 on occation. My humidity level was around 45-50% most of the time. What did I do wrong or what can I do differently next year? My students were very dissappointed. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give. sylviat
