So last Monday night a car pulled into our drive way This startled me and my husband as we rarely have visitors and if we do we know they are coming. My husband went out to see what was going on.
He came back in 20 min later and told me some drunk guy (we don't know who he is) had stopped and dropped off two baby chicks his granddaughter had gotten and didnt want anymore. He described the chicks as a white rock and a banty. Said she had gotten them at Thiesens. He said he saw our chickens in the yard and figured we wanted them! lol

I went out the next day to see these two chicks. The "banty" is the same size as my Buff orpington chicks which are about 5 weeks old. She has a single comb and is buff colored. (hard to tell her from them). The "white rock" is a meat chick and its the saddest thing I have ever seen! These chicks are very friendly and so i must assume his granddaughter was good to them when she had them. But this meat chick can hardley stand it just lays by the feeder. And when u come in it comes "running" more like gimping toward u. reminds me of a really fat old man trying to walk. I have no idea how old these chicks are, but I wonder what would of happened to them if we hadn't taken them. We butcher our extra roosters but never have and after this deff. won't ever get the broiler chicks. Its just sad how friendly he is and how handicapped he is already!

Just wanted to share my chick story! We have had cats, dogs and what not dumped here but this was the first time for chicks!
