Chicks Dropping Like Flies

Should I mix a little 100% pea baby food with some egg yolk and feed it to her using a q-tip or something?

Try a little egg yolk first. Then maybe baby food with pureed peas.

Okay, what response should I receive and what will the egg yolk do exactly?

Edit: I don't eat eggs usually so do I just feed them the yolk or is the fluid fine as well?

Well, just try the egg yolk. Dip your finger and see if you can dab the tip or side of her beak. See if she'll swallow. Or even inside her beak when she exhales and see if she swallows. You could even try a straw on the exhale. Suck a touch in the straw and release it in her mouth and see how that works. Q-tip might be good for the baby formula yeah.

You mean the whites? No, just the yolk. Have you gotten some sugar water in her? I'd keep going with that until she's had enough. Or what the heck, try a little yolk. I think she needs some nutrition too.

She is chirping and just began shaking violently, tilting her head back again and again.

I am having little success, but will keep trying.

Edit: OH... She just flipped out and rolled over and had a huge spasm and fell off the table, oh god. I feel so bad, I'm terrible at this..

Update: She had another seizure/spasm.. Her heart is beating so fast I can hardly believe she hasn't had a heartattack yet, poor girl.. I doubt she'll make it through the rest of the night at this rate. The yolk and sugarwater are causing her to have really bad dry heaves and huge spasms..

Now..

OH DEAR GOD, SHE HAS TAKEN A TURN FOR THE WORSE. On her stomach is a HUGE sack bulging out of her body, it is gigantic. It takes up a quarter of her body-size, I'm being serious. This is horrible, I'm crying and I don't know what to do. She obviously is way sicker then I thought, she doesn't look like she'll recover. This bulge is HUGE and it is certainly not natural, she is going to die and I wish I could have done something to help her. I just wanted a flock of chickens, I didn't want to watch a bunch of chicks die.. She is in severe pain it seems and I have no idea what to do.. I am so cowardly..

Update: And she passed..

Just an idea but did they get into any moldy feed? Did they come in contact with the dirt outside?

Cocci doesn't usually make them gasp. I've had cocci in my babies twice. IF that's what it is switch to medicated feed asap, and use Corrid or Sulmet in the water.

To me it looks like it could be an impaction from eating bedding.

Not sure. Sorry you are going through this.
