Im moving out to the country so I acquired some barred plymouth rock eggs locally. They were placed in my GQF incubator on the 10th of December and are due to hatch on Jan. 3rd. I placed 26 eggs in the incubator so hopefully I will get a good hatch rate. In addition to those eggs I acquired some black copper marans eggs on the 17th of December. I have 26 of those as well. The marans eggs were simply beautiful, very large and very dark eggs. At the same time as I placed the marans eggs I got 4 silkie eggs. January is going to be a very interesting and exciting month. I had used the GQF when I raised quail and it always gave excellent hatch rates. Due to the cold weather anything goes though. Im thinking the Marans will do good down here in Louisiana. We shall see.
