Help!
It went from 9 healthy chicks to 4 in two days. They go from standing and running around eating and healthy to dead in hours. No blood in stool but I am treating for coccidiosis anyway. The first day I lost 3 one after the other then yesterday one and today another.. They show no symptoms until they're on the ground actively dying.
Antibiotics next? What now? I'm raising them with a broody but brought her in the house.

when they first died were they with a hen or rooster there are some cases the bigger chickens can step on them?

No. The first one crashed while with the broody so I pulled all of them. After 2 more died in the brooder I brought the broody in the house to care for them instead of using a brooder because she was frantic. She's alone with them now and she's doing a good job I don't think it is her.

what are you feeding them?

Sounds like what I am currently going though. Mine have other symptoms too, such as dow-less patches of dry skin and eye issues. The eye issues seem to be responding to Visine and Neosporin. My broody hen lost her last one and I am not planning to get any more chicks until I can be sure they will live.
Currently I am supplementing their diet with canned fish, VetRX, and vitamins in the water, along with their regular chick feed (20% crumble). Since I started the morning fish feeding, they seem to have put on some body mass. Also I've noticed that the older chicks who passed the two month age seem to be unaffected. I've also done extensive cleaning of the cages and changed enclosures.

I would also look at getting one of your dead chicks examined. I've been trying to get that done, but it has not happened. Also, if your chicks do pull through this time, you should do an extensive cleaning of all your cages your chicks were in. If your broody hen doe not show any signs, then you may be dealing with cold and environmental issues the adults are better able to handle.
