Chicks first night in the coop!

Nice, so is she supposed to lay green eggs?

I believe so! I was told it could be brown though. So we’ll see

Wow, that gray color is very beautiful! I wonder if she will have the barring of a barred rock. That would be really cool if she turns out dark grey with black barring.

I know! I’ve read they do a juvenile molt soon? Is that when she will be her true colors?

This is her a few weeks ago. She’s definitely got some darker feathers now.

I’m so nervous for their first night in their coop! 2 are 7 weeks this Saturday and 2 are 8 this Saturday. They have been off heat and in my garage for almost 3 weeks so I know they will be fine they are just my first chickens! Our low tonight is 42° I’ll probably be a crazy person lurking with a flash light at 2am

Don’t feel bad! Our 4 girls are around the same age. They’re also our first chickens We have a makeshift chicken tractor that they go in during the day (they aren’t in their coop yet). My husband works from home and I’m off work because I have chronic migraines. I check on the girls an average of ohhhh.... every 7-11 mins It’s really pretty ridiculous! Hahaha Anyways, good luck! She’s gorgeous! I love the barred rock crosses. I have one named Gertrude that is a barred rock buff Orpington cross. They are stunning birds!

I’m so glad yours did so well on their first night out! I was worried sick when I first put mine out, but luckily I had 19 chicks and they all cuddled up and kept warm.

Yes, but their second true molt is when they will be real beautiful! They will have a attained there full size by then.
