Chicks foot stuck in its bellybutton?

The chick is walking today, a little wabbly but she is figuring it out. The skin tag looks like it is drying up. I think it will most likely fall off. I will keep you posted.
I’ve never heard of a deformity like the three footed chick. How strange.

I offered to send it to the vet school. They weren't interested. They said, "if you hatch enough, you'll see all kinds of deformities."

Have seen a couple on here.
One lived to laying age, it had 4 legs.....can't remember how it died.

It looks dried up here but one of the other pics it looked pinker and wetter.
Could just be dried 'hatching gunk'.

Did your chick make it? We just did the same to one of our new silkies to free her but she seems smaller and weaker than her sibling.
