I had a chick hatch out this morning who has her foot stuck in what looks like her belly button (essentially). Part of it feels dry and hard. Has anyone seen this before? I assume I need to cut it out but I thought I better ask the group first.
Any advice is much appreciated!

I thought deformity at first but it’s right where the yolk would have absorbed. It looks more like her foot is caught in it and not so much like her foot grew in it.

That almost looks like a loop of intestine around the foot. Yikes!
Can you see the abdominal opening?
I just triple checked and there is no opening. The chick fell asleep in my hand while I was poking around at it and moving her foot so I would say it’s also not tender at all.
