Just moved to the country from the city and we hope to buy our own land in a couple years and do a little bit of homesteading.
We have no pets and are thinking about getting 4 chicks for our 4 boys (ages 7,4,2 and 3 months) for easter gifts. So they can all familiarize each other at a young age and grow together as pets and pet owners.
We moved to where it’s 4 seasons and plan to build a gated coop with daily free range and play.
Completely new to owning chickens but hope for lots of love, personalities, fun and of course fresh eggs. If you got any pointers or specific threads please tell me. I want to be the best chicken mama/grandmama (my kids will be the official parents of their pets) I can be.
We prefer to do the most diy, eco, homemade everything chicken related we can do so tell me it all!
