Chicks going to coop!

Its moving day...my 6 week olds are going from the basement to the coop. They all seem to be strong and healthy...it is time.

A women from work has over 50 chickens and she puts hers outside between 4 and 5 weeks old with no heat lamp. She doesnt buy into the "its too cold theory" once they are more than a month old. There is no way a mama chicken could sit on a clutch of (2) 5 week olds let alone 10!

So...they will huddle up together in some warm hay and get used to their new home.

that women is right.if a hen hatches a big clutch of eggs.she can only brood them for a week or so.then they to big.so they just huddle close to mommma.
