. One is injured and separated because the others were drawing her blood. She seems to be fine. She can walk and eat. The hawk took a bite off of the corner of her wing. I put aloe vera on her. Is there anything I can do to help her even more?

Keep the wound clean. Saline works well for that. Betadine wouldn't be a bad idea either. Keep her separated (preferably indoors), and keep an eye on her.

She'll probably be just fine in about 2 weeks. Chickens are a LOT tougher than they look.

A friend of mine had a hen who was attacked by a dog, and her entire tail was gone. Two weeks later, that little hen went back to the coop with the rest of her flock, and was just fine!

It sounds like you're doing all you need to do, unless there is anything that appears to be broken or any other injuries.

Hope that helps!

I think it would be wise to wash the wound with antibiotic soap and then put something on it like blu-kote or betadine or neosporin. Then, keep her inside for about a week until it has a chance to heal. So sorry about the ones that died.

I had a severely injured hen once. Used Neosporine 3x per day to keep the wound from drying out and cracking open, and of course, to keep from getting infection. Good luck.

edited 'cause I'm a dork.
