Is there anyone out there that can help me out by selling me enough antibiotic to get by til feed store gets some...i will pay for overnight shipping

Put apple cidar vinegar in their drinking water. That will help until you can get the corrid. And start feeding yogurt with live cultures.

Also keep bedding dry and clean.

Good luck, I cured mine, but lost 7 in the process.

my problem is...there is no medicine that i can purchase for coccidiosis in this town...everyone is out...TSC, 3 different local feed stores and 2 different vets...they have none...so a friend recommended that i use "piperazine" this liquid stuff she gave me...after research..i found that it is used as a dewormer...she says it will work...i dont know what to do now...she said that the chicks got it from being exposed to my big flock..

well any way i gave them vinegar in their water till i can find something sulmet or corid...actually TSC guy said they took corid off the shelves

It's 2 tbls per gallon of AVC in the water. The yogurt is very important. Mix that with some medicated chick feed and sprinkle some on the top and they will eat it for now. Best to do this right away. Also contact glenda heywood, three horses or ddawn or you will lose them all! They have the yogurt recipe.

Contact a local farmer for corrid...there's got to be some somewhere in that town. That's where I had to get mine. And be sure you are certain they have cocci before treating.

Corid is manufactured by Merial. Do a search for the company and then find your local sales rep. He/She might be able to tell you of a local store that carries Corid.
I'm having the same problem with Cocci. Could not find a local store that carries Corid. I called the local sales rep, left a message, and she called me back in about an hour.
I started giving the medicine (in their water) on Monday. I took one chick out and babied her until I saw her eating and drinking the medicated water. She looked good. Put her back in brooder, went to bed and she was dead in morning. Now I have another baby who doesn't look so good. I'm trying again, but she won't eat or drink. She was eating good on Monday. (I also removed her for observation on Monday because I suspected that she was the second worse off chick) The other remaining 6 chicks seem fine.
They have all been eating medicated (amprolium) feed so I don't understand the problem. I'm suspecting that because they are small banties that mayby some (the dead ones) did not eat enough feed to be medicated. ???? Any ideas about how/why they got sick anyone???

Well good luck with your babies and finding Corid. Also, get a 5 gallon bucket to mix it up. It calls for 16oz Corid to 100 gallons water. That converts to 1 oz per 6.25 gallons. 1 oz is an 1/8 of a cup. So I did 3 gallons water with 1/2 of an 1/8 cup Corid. Does that sound right to everyone? They are still getting the med. feed also.

As far as your dosage, a half of an eighth of a cup is a tablespoon, and a tablespoon is 3 teaspoons, so yes, that's right. One teaspoon per gallon.

As far as medicated feed, i don't really know the reason, but lots and lots of us have chicks who have the medicated feed and still get cocci and need to be treated with the Corid. The medicated feed is supposed to help prevent, but i believe the dosage is not great enough to treat if there is an outbreak.

And i'm so sorry about your sick babies.
