If you have some type of furniture store around, go and ask them for a large box. Where I live, there is a container behind the furniture store where they put the boxes. We just get them from there. You can break them down and then re-tape at home. Even interior designer stores order furniture and may have a large box.
 
It's still early in the growing season but I found that the boxes that are used to ship watermelons make great temporary brooders.
They have wooden pallet attached to bottom for stability and because they are designed for heavy produce they need no duct taping.
And they are tall enough to control escape artists at least for a time.
So when you are checking your furniture store, also give grocery/fruit stand a try.
