Chicks in the winter, when can they go out side??

Are they dust bathing on the ground in the run?
Mine have always preferred to make their own dust bath....so I let 'em.
They have a place that stays dry all year so no need to provide one in the winter.

okay i'll do that, i live in Washington it they have not tried to make there own yet.
