I am going to get 3-5 chicks from our local farm store. They have a couple of the breeds that I want now. and will have the others in a couple weeks. Should I try as hard as possible to get them all the same age, or will a week or two make a big difference? The last batch of 4 I got were 4 weeks old and I noticed that one of them was definitely a couple weeks behind in growth and they all did ok together. These new ones will be day old, or close to it.

I got some at TSC and then when they were 2 1/2 weeks old I added 2 more 3 day olds. At first the older ones pecked at them and pulled their feet out from under them but later on all was fine. Now they are all in together and sometimes the older ones even sit on the little ones like a mother hen.
