chicks on roosts

Why aren't my 5 week old silkies sleeping on there roosts yet??? I have been putting them on for about 3-4 days...

We have silkies older than that; maybe 8 weeks; they're still not, either. Maybe it depends on the breed, when they start roosting.

My 9 week old Doms have just started. Up until this week, they would sit on the roosts during the day, but piled in the corner on the floor at night. Now they all scramble for a place on the roost as the sun begins to set.
