I have just started raising chickens this year but some of my hens do look like this and are female(I had 3 roosters and they quickly began squawking and becoming a noise nuisance)The black one is this picture is Eve and she has waddles but is most defiantly a girl. Once they hit 5 - 6 months old with no squawking you are usually good.
x2 boy for sureThat much comb/wattles in a 6-7 week old bird....that's a roo. Whether or not to keep it is up to you, but having a mature rooster around small children can be dangerous. If the birds are penned up it may work for you. If not I'd reconsider. Roosters often target small children and being small it doesn't take much for them to get a face full of rooster. There is such a thing as decent roosters though so some people will keep them and see how they are after the hormones hit but aggression in roosters is very, very common.
