My 6 week old baby chicks, were in a chick pen, with the other hens but separate, yesterday they managed to get out of their boarded in separated chicke house from the other hens, so now they are in the hen population, but at night I try to fence them in but it is a matter of time, that my escape artists will be out and with the hens, since they have already done it. My question is, will they be safe with the hens, I worry about them pecking at them or some thing. For disease, I had them separated for 6 weeks, so... Ideas, and advice and suggestins and comments my chick friends

I would keep an eye on them. I have some young roos in with the big guys. When I let them out into the run they seem to be ok and ignored by the bigger birds. As long as they have plenty of room they should be ok. Too, as long as they can stay warm.

All the best
