My 8 little chicks are 5 weeks old, and I have begun to transition them outdoors for several hours at a time, on warmer days. Today’s temps are in the mid-60s (63-66), and I’m wondering if it’s too cold?

I did the same with my 5 week old chicks. Just make sure they are in direct sunlight and have a little box with some shavings that they can go into if they are too cold. Turn the box on its side so it has a roof and floor.

My chicks turn 5 weeks tomorrow. They have spent the last 2 nights in the coop with lows around 55. They seem fine so far. I did not let them out of the coop today (high winds) Tonight and tomorrow night will be about 45 degrees. Hope they are fine. Threw a box in that most are huddling in

I’m in Mass with temps in the low to mid 60’s and I take my 3 week old Golden Comets our to the tractor for 3 to 4 hours. I’m finding they love to sun bathe but will head to the shady area often. They lay down and fall asleep on the grass or on the 2x4 corner supports. So funny.
