From day one we could tell the chicks personalities now they are 1 week old and are the same. We have 3 Easter Eggers, 2 Australorps, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, and 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte.
Our 3 EE run the brooder, expecialy the yellow EE she is the boss. She always is at the food and moving all the other chicks around. They are the most flighty of all 7 chicks, don't like being held, and are the biggest. On the other hand they are the ones that will sit and chirp forever after you leave the front of the brooder, just don't touch them. lol
Our 2 Aust. are the first to run to the brooder door when you open it. They like to sit and watch you and when you clean there waterer and food is doesn't bother them. They like being held and will fall asleep in your hand. They are calm little chicks.
Our SLW is now the smallest of our chicks. She is right behind the Aust. when you open the brooder. She likes to run around but isn't as hipper as the EE. She doesn't mind being held, she will sit in your hands as long as you want. She just doesn't get as comfy as the Aust. to fall asleep.
Our GLW is kind of a chick of her own. She does her own thing and isn't in the front or the back of the brooder once you open it. She is the only chick that has a favorite person. My hubby is her favorite she will fall asleep in his hands and not care how long he holds her. Everyone else she only likes being held for a little while. She is a little smaller then the EE but bigger then the rest.
Anyone else tell how there chicks are right off the back. Does this show how they will be when grown up? Are our chicks like what others have experienced?
