hello, we have 4 chicks about 3 weeks that we got 2 days ago. They seemed fine and then this evening one is really picking at feathers on the others and they are all doing this a but to each other. We got another bin and separated them 2 and 2. We have the single white heat lamp and added screen because they were flying up. Are we doing the right thing?thank you!!!

A red heat lamp might help.

Also a bigger area. More space always helps. They need to be able to get warm, and also have enough space to cool off.

Make sure they always have fresh water and clean feed.

Thank you! We are doing our best to do everything right and be good, loving chick owners. Really appreciate the quick reply.

The white light is probably the cause of the pecking, I only use the red heat lamps and always have an extra bulb on hand just in case.
