Chicks picking/eating their feathers

Do you have a picture of your set up? It could very well be an issue of being overcrowded. I notice that there aren’t any sores or open wounds on the skin of the little one pictured. That’s good, but how are your other 49 chicks looking?

If it is lack of protein I would recommend a gamebird crumble for a bit to get them over the hump

The picture I took is of one of the worst chick I saw. They all don't look that bad, but most of them have some sort of feather loss. They also have plenty of room to run around in an outside pen.

The background in the photo looks wet. Are your chicks able to stay dry? Without feathers, they will lose heat. Do you have a heat source available? Especially on cool nights...
