I'm so loving Silkies after hanging out here at BYC! Hehehe

Ok so here are my three Australorps girls, at one week old. Don't have names for them yet, still getting to know them

This first one was the largest and has the prettiest markings. She was a bit of a bully at first but as the others have grown it has calmed her down a bit.

This one was the smallest. She was a "runt" but has fattened up quite a bit and is the boldest of the three. She imprinted on Daisy my dog...they just love on each other all the time (through the cage).

This one is what I call the "middle child". Just showing a lot of personality in the the last day or so. She was the last to start "flying" but she is so pleased with herself now that she sleeps on the water dish, just to prove that she can get up there!

She is quite cute though and like I said, really blossoming the last day or two.

I thought long and hard about my first chickens and decided Austras would be perfect for me. I'm glad I got them. They are the sweetest, spunkiest little things!!!

Three weeks old as of yesterday. Size comparison to a bottle.

Is that a girl? If so, she's quite large, one of the largest in a flock:

Fact: These wee ones are the beginning (I hope) of my Black Copper Marans laying flock, although I think the photo is of 2 of my 3 cockerels!
