Chicks pile up and fight over corner of coop away from heat plate

I lost 3 chicks to trampling last night. They are not hot... half under heat plate. Other half fight to be in corner for some odd reason.

Round the corner off so that they can not cram into it. You can use a curved piece of cardboard or wire.

Ok will do. I already cut off the alley that used to be there to left of waterer.

Do they like nooks and crannies?

Silkie and easter egger. Same age. Mixed of each under plate and not.

odd thing is, normal during day. only at night when colder do they go in corner. i will lower temp on heat plate to rest
