So far everyone seems fine! There are still two eggs, but I don't think they are going to hatch. No pips, no movement and I don't hear anything. How long do I leave them under Mama? I will have to learn how to post pictures, but I don't think I can for awhile anyway. I think I have to post a certain amount of posts before I can post pics. But still, I will have to learn how!

When there are a few left that should have pipped I take them out and put them on a table to check for movement. Listen closely for any noise also. Discard them if there is no sign of life before the unmentionable happens!

Congrats I wish you could post pics

Well, we got another surprise!! There was another broody, this one a silkie, in the coop on just two eggs. The eggs had been left alone several times and we didn't think they would hatch, but last night when we were putting everyone to bed, we heard peeping and surpise!

there was a chick under her AND the other egg was pipped!! So we have a grand total of EIGHT babies now!! We are super excited. Everyone is doing well!! There are still two eggs under the original broody (sebright) that I don't think will hatch. Seems like the general concensus is to wait until day 25 to toss them, which is tomorrow.

Thank you all for the great welcome and great advice! Love this site!!
