Chicks shipping!

Here's an update! 1 of the broodies, the one who went broody this spring actually, isn't good with them. She's made another nest elsewhere in the run and pecks at the chicks whenever they're near her.
However... the 2nd broody, the first-timer, is amazing! She has been an incredible mom the whole day and has managed 14 chicks (one didn't make it last night sadly.). I might add she is 9 months old and quite small - maybe mixed with a bantam breed. I'm really impressed because she has never been broody before yet is so far proving herself to be great at it. So they're all good... except for the fact that when they're bigger, I'm not sure she'll be able to sit on/cover them all!
:D

I don't think that I'd worry to much about her being able to cover them, I had a broody who would roost at night on the top rung of a pool ladder I had in the run, she'd be up on it, with the chicks under her wings, lol.

Thank you! I'm glad... and I'm confident that she will be very good at raising and protecting! She is amazing with them and they love her - now I'm not sure what to do with the second broody (who isn't quite ready for chicks yet, she went broody almost a week after the first). The chicks like their new mom too much to want to listen to the other broody when she's ready for chicks...
I'm just very happy that she is such a good mom. And that they listen to her!
