Here's an update! 1 of the broodies, the one who went broody this spring actually, isn't good with them. She's made another nest elsewhere in the run and pecks at the chicks whenever they're near her.
However... the 2nd broody, the first-timer, is amazing! She has been an incredible mom the whole day and has managed 14 chicks (one didn't make it last night sadly.). I might add she is 9 months old and quite small - maybe mixed with a bantam breed. I'm really impressed because she has never been broody before yet is so far proving herself to be great at it. So they're all good... except for the fact that when they're bigger, I'm not sure she'll be able to sit on/cover them all!
