chicks sleeping in nest boxes

I have 8 chickens with 5 nesting boxes. They sleep in them every night. There is not a problem with still laying their eggs in the nesting boxes. I seems they leave the one they lay in empty at night.

Don't worry about it. The chicks will slowly move to the roost bars as they get older. It's in their nature to move to the highest point to roost. I would just live with the chick poop in the nest boxes for the time being.

This. Our hens slept in the nest boxes for nearly a year. Now they roost outside. Our rooster uses the roost inside the coop. The girls just don't get it. I guess they just like sleeping under the stars.
