Chicks to Chickens

Hi, I am looking into getting a few chickens. Maybe 4 or 5. I am wanting this to be something I can do with my daughter. She is 6. We have cold winters sometimes snow. This year we had quite a bit of snow. Summers are hot and humid. Can anyone suggest a particular type of chicken. I would also like them to be docile since my daughter will be joining me in the coop. Thank you!

I live in a very humid environment and Buckeyes do well here as do Turkens and Easter Eggers. The Buckeyes are probably the most chill but I don’t really handle my chickens. When I was more hands-on Delawares were a great breed for all of the above.
