Chicks very loud right before bedtime

Mine all chatter loudly right before bed when they have all eaten and are finding their spots to sleep. It's part of it, and I really don't want to 'shut them up' considering that's part of having chicks, and brooding in your house.


Please keep the light on. Yes a heat light is not natural but in nature they have the mother hen for warmth, without her they die. Without the heat light you will probably have sick chicks very soon.

I don't mind the noise, just find the behavior very interesting and it is good to know it happens to other chicks too.

We heat our house to 64-65F while my friends heat theirs to 70F

I really think they are fine but will keep close monitor.

get Turkey chicks,,,They NEVER shut up all day long. I keep a heat lamp on 24/7 and they move under or away depending on what they feel they need. They know better then me if they are cold

Tonight i noticed that they make a distinct sound, some kind of bird yarning perhaps, right before bed. This is after the loud cries.
