We have 5 4 week old Buff O's and are wondering if we can start letting them be outside overnight without a heat source? It's 92 here today and the lows are 55-60. Are they old enough? They love outside and I hate to bring them in when they are so happy. Thanks for helping out a newbie :)

You can start leaving them out as long as they have a safe coop! Go to the nearest Walmart, Target, or other store with a camping section and buy a bunch of hot hands or foot warmers (they're like 72 cents a pack). Open a pack, activate them, and wrap them loosely in an old t-shirt. Set them inside the coop with the chicks, and they'll sit on top if they start to get cold. Hot hands stay warm for about 10 hours. Keep this up for about a week until the chicks acclimate to the cooler temps.
