Hatched a batch of chicks from blue eggs (Mom is an EE without cheek feather, beard etc)). The rooster who I thought fertilized these eggs is an Americauna (from a breeder). They are 5 days old and only one chick has a beard. Is it likely there is another Dad who can only fly when I’m not watching lol (my other rooster is a Wynandotte who is in a different pen. Or does it sometimes take time for these facial feathers to grow?

Mom doesn’t and Dad does have a beard and cheek feathers. I was under the impression all their offspring would have some beard/cheek feathers.

Here’s pictures
The Mom I am sure is Mom. The Dad is questionable.

With that combo you stand a 50/50 chance of muff/beards. Mom looks to be an EE mix, just my opinion. Dad is very handsome & does look to be Ameracana

Thanks!! I call her an EE as well. She lays blue eggs but clearly isn’t pure anything.
