Hi -

I have a flock of 9 12 week old pullets who are in the coop full time. I have 3, 5 week old chicks also who live in my basement currently (with other baby chicks)!
My question is - when can the 5 week olds go into the coop with the bigger girls? Weather is not an issue as I’m in the northeast and it’s been in the 90s for weeks. It’s more - will they get picked on? And when won’t they...
Thanks!

Place them side by side to where they can see each other but can’t reach each other for a few weeks. That way they’ll get used to each other and then integrate with supervision.

The more room they have to get away from pecking the better. There will be pecks but as long as it’s not a constant every day thing.

Here is a current thread with a similar situation
