I have 6, 5 week old chicks that were moved to the coop a week ago ( temps are u. The 80’s during the day and 60’s at night. They’re eating and acting fine but they mostly stay in the coop and will only come out when I go in the run or they see my dog. Will they start venturing out and staying out of the coop?

As they get bigger, they will get bolder. If they know how to get in and out of the coop, you are fine. I recommend tossing some chicken scratch of table scraps into the run to encourage them outside. If you make the chicken run worth their effort to go and stay outside, they will, sooner rather than later, stay outside all day long.

At 5 weeks old, they are still babies. But it sounds like they are doing fine. Enjoy the different stages of their development. They grow up fast.
