chicks wont eat dry crumble

Good morning y'all,

i have some bcm chicks that are a week old. when i got them home i tried getting them to eat the crumble by "showing" them but they were quite lethargic(they hatched that morning and my brooder was a little too warm) and did not eat it. on day two i mixed the crumble with some water in a little sauce dish and they ate it up good.

now, a week later, if they run out of mash in the night or before i get home from work they dont move over to the dry crumble. should i try to get them on the crumble more diligently or just keep feeding the mash until they decide they are ready? im worried they will loose some initial weight and speed of growth if they dont eat while transitioning.

You can try sprinkling dry crumble on the mash to make sure they know it's food.
I've been feeding my flock a fermented mash with dry always available in an adjacent feeder for over 4.5 years and they eat all of it.
