So our new silkies are getting settled in, and I was wondering when/if I should start preventative measures for worms/mites/etc. They're one month old now. I know some people give their silkies baths using puppy flea shampoo, but they're awfully young so I was worried if that could have adverse effects. Should I hold off on bathing them at all until they're older? On that note, do young silkies take dust baths?

For worming, do pumpkin seeds really work? It's getting around that time of the year anyway and I wouldn't mind making a few pumpkin-guts smoothies for them as a preventative. Is it ok to give pumpkin to chicks?

Thanks in advance for any info!
