Welcome to BYC!

You can raise chicks with a rooster if he's a good boy. He will assume the chicks are his. He may even feed and care for them. I get rid of any rooster that attacks chicks. Luckily, this is rare.

Only raise chicks with the hen if she's their mother. If they have their mother with them, that is also good. Don't just put random chicks in with the hens.

I prefer to isolate the mother with her chicks for the first few days after they hatch. It's easier for the chicks to recognise and follow mum if they've had some time to get used to her.

If you raise chicks with the flock, you won't have to worry about integrating them later. But you will have to make sure that there's nowhere the chicks can get trapped. Young chicks have a hard time using ramps.

Thanks a lot cause I was worried because the hen has started laying again!
