These two chicks were sold to me as eggs...
One egg for white star
One egg for silver wyandotte
Any idea whether this is correct and/or gender?!

Nope, nope, nope.
You cannot feather sex chicks when you have no idea of the parentage!

You can only feather sex chicks with a parentage of fast feathering parent x slow feathering parent.

The first looks like a silkie cross cockerel.
Second...unidentifiable dun/laced pullet?

Age? Both are mixed breeds. The first one looks like a Silkie mix. It also appears to be a cockerel. I'm thinking the second one is also a cockerel.

She advertised it as silver laced Wyandotte!! No comb whatsoever yet. Both about 8 weeks old I think.

At 8 weeks old, both could be pullets. Was thinking they were a few weeks younger.
