Chicks

Have a brooder set up and check temperature before the chicks arrive to make sure you have the light in a hood spot.

Give them enough room to be out of the direct heat if they want.

I ensured the chicks knew where the water was by dipping their beaks in it a few times until I saw them actually swallow some.

Have the food set up already.

And it’s never a bad idea to give them an electrolyte mix to help them out after traveling.

Depends on your location and how cold it is. In Alabama in the summer I don’t even need a heat lamp except at night. You want to be able to maintain mid 90s. There are some really good in depth articles on here. Step by steps and everything.

Its a good idea to put some nutridrench in the water for the first couple days as well. If any of them seem weak some egg yolk and crumble mash can help get them over the hump.

Oh and make sure you keep the pasty butt under control. That's always a battle the first few days. a little probiotic in the water helps with that in my experience.
