Ok. What are you using as a brooder? What heat source do you have? I would not put them outside unless you have a predator-proof place for them to stay. That’s why I was wondering what it looked like!

oh i just have a regular heat lamp in a place safe from the whether and predators

Assuming you're on a computer, when you go to reply/post on the thread, look just above the text window and you'll see some icons: a smiley, a B, etc. Click on the 6th one over which looks like a photo, then drag & drop your photo from your computer into the mini window that pops up.

If you can't post photos knowing your temperatures right now as well as the measurement (LxW) for the brooder would help. For 12 chicks you need a pretty sizeable brooder to start, or to keep adding onto it as they grow. If using a heat lamp the brooder must be big enough to allow for both warm and cool areas so chicks can escape from heat. It needs a lid/cover to prevent escapes as well as ample ventilation.
