Has anyone had problems with chiggers in deep litter? My chickens are fine, but I came in with what appear to be chugger bites after showbelungnout some deep litter. We use pine needles and leaves as our deep litter and live in texas. Thank you for any help! Also, I've heard you are not supposed to put DE in deep litter because it kills good bacteria, but any other natural chigger repellents?

I'm curious about this too. I haven't had any bites yet, but the chiggers here are vicious once it gets warm. I was going to post a similar question before chigger season ramps up here.
