Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Leverett looked up to Harper and knew she was far too perceptive to lie to. So he admitted truthfully, "I'm just having a pity party." He then looked away in shame at admitting what he did.

Harper didn't want to give him false hope by telling him what Alastor said. "Ryker has his reasons for everything he does. For example Amaryllis is still very weak and can only donate so much at one time. I know it is not fun sitting her healing the normal, slow way. But I will do my best to keep you comfortable for however long it takes. And there is no shame in anything you have done or said." Harper told him firmly as she reached out and squeezed his hand comfortingly. It may not have been what he wanted to hear but it was the best she could do.

( I know right!?! It would be perfect if she could, but given the type of stuff Ryker is doing I don't think it would make sense. But it sure would be a neat side effect given that other then her claws and her teeth she doesn't have a whole lot changed. )

Eliana felt like she had been slapped in the face by his statements. She was acting a bit like a petulant child and like one she frowned but did as she was told. She moved over to sit on the chair opposite from him and held out her hands. Was his life really as bad as hers? She wasn't sure she believed it, he at least had some control over his life. But then again he had pretty much told her so did she, if she behaved. But deep down she knew what her answer was and just like that her anger deflated and she let out all her emotions in a heavy sigh. "You are right, I am afraid, and I am angry. I had a life before this, I think, I don't really remember but it had to be better then all this. The only thing I remember is waking up on Ryker table and excruciating pain, and then a cell. I am afraid of what I am, afraid of what I have become, afraid of everything around me, afraid of the past I can't remember. And all of that makes me angry because I don't want to be afraid." She looked up at him. "At least if you wanted to feel the sunlight on your face you can walk right out the door. I can't, because I don't know how to break myself out of this viscous cycle I am in."
Alastor went to work on her hands as she talked. It had surprised him and he had used the task of cleansing, trimming and dressing her shattered nails. As she concluded, he looked up and said delicately. " Ryker is tunnel minded sometimes. He often forgets you children and throws himself into the process. I used to think I couldn't fully stand behind what he's doing here. But then I witnessed, not once, but twice." He paused and made a soft sound of awe. " This....truly amazing and remarkable thing. Something that changes everything I've come to believe. What was and is remotely possible. I now know his vision.....his work....it has merit. It's hard for you to see it right now, but in time. Like me, you'll see it for what it is." Alastor sighed and shook his head. "We all had a life before her. Maybe if you promise not to kill me and run.....I'll take you outside with me sometime." He offered hopefully.

"I don't know. I'm worried about him Donella. He didn't deserve that treatment." Andorra said worriedly. She at on the floor and wrapped her arms around her legs. She rested her chin on her knees and sighed softly.
Donella sat down beside Andorra and gave her a sisterly hug. "We could go check, I guess." She said softly. It was scary to think of going out after information, but if it would make Andorra feel better, she would.

Her books? She thought to herself then remembered she had left them with the flirt. "Who put them in my room? Last I remember I left them with Ares as I fled down the hall. Oh and thank you for doing that, I just picked up all those text books from my classes I would hate to have to go back and tell the teachers I lost them already." She said quietly, it was hard enough just going around and getting the books, she didn't want to have to go through the embarrassment a second time.
"Andorra had them when I got there. Apparently she saw the tiff and retrieved your books then I came across her after and we put your books in your room together. That's when I came to find you." Casey explained.

Vasper smiled, "Do you like spicy? I have a bag of hot 'n' spicy hid inot the back of the pantry. We could perhaps share it if you'd like" He said, becoming a bit more grounded when the voice subsided.
~~~
Willow sat up and slipped off the counter slowly. Once her feet were on the floor again, she stocked over to him as he was cleaning up. "The cook shouldn't have to clean up. Let me do it. Take a load off. You worked hard enough for you fussy gal." " She purred.
~~~
Madison smiled deviously and said with approval, "I do love how you think. Let go with curtain number three please. Let's go snoop in his cell when we find it. "

Layla grinned, "I do indeed like spicy. Got a hidden stash huh?" She asked with a chuckle, you kind of had to in this house if you had a favorite snack food. She wondered in the back of her mind if Leverett was ok, she hadn't meant to leave him for so long. But he had told her to go and come back when she was herself again. Perhaps after she had shared some food with Vasper. She felt like he would be proud of her, for accepting help with her anger from Vasper and trying something new with fried pig skins.

~~~~
Adrian smiled and stepped back letting her take over the cleaning. He leaned against the counter admiring the view. "I don't mind cleaning up, we always helped in my house growing up with the dishes. But hey I won't complain, I have a pretty nice view from where I am at now so, clean away." He said in a husky voice. He decided that seeing wasn't nearly as good as touching and he wanted to give her a taste of her own medicine. He walked up behind her and slid his arms around her waste and breathed out gently on her neck below her ear. "I am not being too distracting am i?" He asked quietly.
~~~

Saskia clapped her hands together excitedly, she loved getting into trouble. "Did you pick up enough of his scent to figure out which cell is his? If not I can put the old sniffer to the test and see if I can pick up an older lion scent, would be tough with you standing right next to me. But I should be able to pick up and older scent and distinguish between the two, because you know I am amazing. Lets go snooping!" She said with a grin as she swept her hand out down the hallway like she was showing Madison the way. She was glad she could cheer her up a bit after her loss of Dyrus, but maybe this male lion would be a better fit for her friend. Madison could be a bit, intense, and Dyrus had never really taken to her affections, so in a way she was happy that she had run into this Allen.

Donella sat down beside Andorra and gave her a sisterly hug. "We could go check, I guess." She said softly. It was scary to think of going out after information, but if it would make Andorra feel better, she would.
Andorra shook her head. "He's unconscious with the fever. I don't think he would even know we were there. Plus, what if we got in the way?" She said. She hated seeing anyone she knew hurting and not being able to help.

(Aww he deserves a hug, but Eliana isn't going to hug him because yeah she isn't there yet. But I will give him a mental hug because he is just precious. If you ever decide to have ryker create a rapid were-weasel creature sign her up, she is already super damaged so it will fit right in. lol )

Eliana sighed, this would be so much easier if she just wasn't herself. "Unless this miraculous thing can unmake this hot mess I've become I don't know that I will agree with it. I won't kill you, you aren't like the others, it wouldn't feel right. And where would I go if I ran? I was planning on gaining your trust and doing just that, but you saw me, I can't even handle being poked at. If I ran I would just end up killing someone else, and probably not on purpose. For whatever it is worth, I won't run, there is nowhere for me to belong in that world anymore. " She said a bit dejectedly. Even though she very much wanted to see the sun again she didn't know whether she deserved it anymore. "You know that woman, Sam, she was right. I'm your pet now aren't I? If I behave you take me somewhere, or give me something. I am not better then an oversized guard dog." She looked down at her hands in disgust. Is that what she had become. She really didn't see where she fit in the world. She was too broken for the real world, and in here, in this place? Ryker had far more useful, more dangerous, more controllable creatures, what was she compared to them.

"Andorra had them when I got there. Apparently she saw the tiff and retrieved your books then I came across her after and we put your books in your room together. That's when I came to find you." Casey explained.

Ah that made sense she thought. "Andorra is sweet, she can be a bit overwhelming at first, but I like her. " Amara said thoughtfully as they walked, and to think just a few days ago she was terrified and couldn't even be in a class room. "I wonder who attacked Dimitri? They would have to be pretty big to pull it off, are their many cats here big enough to do that?" She asked Casey, she wonder also if they were safe. If someone attacked Dimitri, one of the most formidable animals on the campus, was anyone really safe?

(Aww, thank you. :hugs But you might not think so after this post. But I really like their dynamics. )
Alastor looked to Eliana feeling like the worst kind of awful for what he'd done. It hurt almost as much as how she thought he was making her his pet. He sighed with deep regret that his kindness had been misconstrued so negatively. But when, if he was truly honest with himself, he knew why he deserved it. He looked to the used medical supplies that littered the table and started cleaning up. He said with sincerity as he stood, "It wasn't about making you my pet. It was more about making a friend. For once, I had somthing to look forward to today when I came down here to work. I was actually happy. But now, that fleeting joy I felt is now irreparably tarnished. In light of your commentary, you reminded me, I'm responsible for your creation. I spliced the genes that Ryker injected in you." He stared down at the table as he carefully closed the first aid kit. He then swept it off the table with an arc of his arm. As it hit and sent its contents flying. He looked to her and sobbed, "You want the villain, Eliana. I'm the one who crushed your hopes....your spirit... and your world. You are who you are because of me. I DID IT! NOT HIM!"

Andorra continued on her way to find Donella and tell her about what happened to Dimitri.
~~~
"I believe you, Priam." Irine said as she slowly sat up and looked to him. She frowned as she looking to her hand to see the damage.....but there was none. "What? How am I not even hurt? I saw it.....it was excruciating." She asked stunned.
~~~
Ashton smiled satisfied and began again, "You have already become more of a friend to me then I've had in a very long time. I don't make friends easy." When she finished she smiled and turned to sit down to enjoy her trail mix.
~~~
"No, I think the gunmetal gray is good with me. Too much color would shock my system. " Dyrus informed joking as he walked with the basket, glancing here and there at the shelves. He was enjoying being out doing somthing other the hunting down someone. "Oh! Look at this. You definitely need one of these. " He said as he picked it up.
Priam sighed softly as he leaned forward, resting his forearm on the side of her bed. "I thought you were going to lose your hand because of me, maybe even your life. It's a miracle what happened, really, to make it otherwise. You were given some blood by Amaryllis. I'm not even sure how it worked, but it saved you. Alastor or Ryker can give you more details later if you ask, I'm sure."
"Ah." Allen sat down beside her and held out the bag, feeling inclined to be generous now. "Well, Missy, I can say it's mutual. I'm rather fond of your company, too. So here, take all the cashews you want." He grinned at her as he put a handful of trail mix in his mouth.
(Really enjoying Madison and Saskia dialogue about Allen XD)
Haley took the small potted plant from him. "To keep me company?" She chuckled softly as she turned it in her hand. "I thought that's what you were for," she said, smirking as she looked from him to the plant, as if comparing them.
